From the second week onwards, I had to go to school and I was having mixed feelings as it was my first time to the school and i was not sure how they were going to be like. The school's name is Jian Ping Experimental High School. It was a really large school which was one of the top schools in Shanghai. When I stepped into the class, all the students welcomed me as if I was one of their regular students. I also met a few other Singapore students who came to Shanghai to study. We got along really well and would meet each other during breaks between classes. Every day, there were a special class arranged for the Singapore students only.

Two weeks passes in a flash, I had to leave the school as the vacation was coming to an end. I had a really hard time leaving the school as I felt that I had become part of the school but it was impossible as I had to carry on with my life. So from then on, the school along with all my classmates and friends will always have a special place in my heart......

For the next few days, we visited most of the popular tourist attractions in Shanghai, such as the Bund, the Science & Technology museum, the Oriental Pearl Tower, etc. On the fourth day, we took a trainout of Shanghai to a neighbouring town named Hangzhou. It was a scenic town which overlooks the lake. We stayed in a hotel which has a magnificent view, overlooking the lake. In the afternoon, we took a boat ride on the lake and visited the scenic spots which
were small pieces of land in the centre of the lake.

The next day, we did the thing that almost all foreigners do when they go to Shanghai: SHOPPING!!! We took a taxi to the other side of the river name "Pu Xi". We stayed at the other side of the river "Pudong".

There were lots of branded goods going for good discounts and we were spoilt for choices.

After shopping, we were dead beat. As the saying goes: Shop till you drop! I totally agree with it. On the fifth day, we took one day tour to ZhuZhuang. It was a more sparesely populated part of Shanghai, and more backwards too. There were lots of small streams flowing through the area.

We spent the weekends doing shopping together. One Sunday afternoon, we sent our grandparents off to the airport.

In this diary entry, I am going to talk my holiday in Shanghai. Basically, my dad was working in Shanghai and I was having my holiday break so we decided to pay him a visit.

My family arrived in Shanghai very late at night because we took the afternoon flight and the flight lasted for about seven hours. At the airport, we could not find our luggages and started to panic. After ten minutes of searching, we decided to ask the airport staff where our luggages were. To our surprise, they were on the other end of the belt! When we stepped out of the arrival hall, I saw my father waiting at the entrance to welcome us. When I saw him, I felt overjoyed because I haven't seen him for weeks and I missed him very much. Next day, my grandparents also came to Shanghai. It came to me as a complete surprise as I did not expect them to join us!
